Out of Demo
(But Not Out of Style)
About Us
This website is for those who “just don’t get it” – for those who because of age, gender, race, geography, income, or other factors are being fed things they don’t understand and have no interest in. In other words, for those of us who are in the wrong demographic segment, who are ”out of demo.”

It might be Nas & Hit-Boy or Robinhood or Gossip Girl or Doc Martens or werewolf movies or . . . you know what I mean if your reaction to any of these is “wha…?” (or worse).

Face it, we live in a bubble that filters out the irrelevant, the childish, the absurd. The bubble of our own demographic, whatever that might be. We like the familiar; we ‘re distrustful of the unfamiliar. And we hate being subjected to marketing pitches, ads for movies and TV shows, beer commercials, technology “must-haves,” fashion trends, and news articles that cater to and often celebrate those whose tastes are different from ours. They live in their own bubbles. They’re good people, just not us.
Are we fogies? Some of us. But we’re also people who live in hollers in West Virginia and urban ghettos or who love old movies and bird watching. Demos are as varied as people, so it’s easy to be “out of demo.”
You ask, how (and why) should a single website appeal to multiple demos, even if each demo is out of the youth-oriented mainstream? The answer is, it can’t, so we’re tailoring it to fogies. Maybe we’ll broaden it later. Or create different websites for different demos. In the meantime, we aim to deliver news and information and products and services for those of us who have trouble fitting in to today’s hip culture, even if we think we’re pretty hip in our own way.
We invite you to read on . . . and do some shopping.
